"The Battle of the Desert" by Corey Couturier

Battle of the Desert started as a Doodle.  I fell in love with it and so decided to make it into a painting.  I made several changes to the original doodle.  I am extremely pleased with the finished piece.  5ftH by 4ftW by 1 1/2" D  Gallery wrap.  Mixed Media.  Original Painting.  $8000.00

Ideas for Practicing Art

http://www.coreycouturier.com
One thing I like to do is to always keep a sheet of paper by my computer so when I'm listening to music, going on Facebook, or watching a movie on Netflix, I just starting doodling without even thinking about it.  When I doodle in this way, what comes out is usually very interesting and different that my planned doodles, because it's coming from my subconscious instead of the conscious part of my brain.  It's a great way to practice art without getting serious or uptight.  The problem many would-be artists have, is that they get stuck and don't know what to paint or draw.  My advice is that it doesn't even matter.  The key is to START somewhere.  And the most important thing is to have fun!!!!  Don't take it too seriously.  Have a great day!!  Corey

Dance Walk  2012

I started Dance Walk in the late summer of 2011 and didn't finish it until the summer of 2012.  It was a painting that I started and then got stuck.  And so it just stood in the corner of my room waiting for some inspiration.  In the meantime I moved several times.  Finally, though, I got my break after watching a video on YouTube about Dance walking.  It was almost immediate.  I knew what to do with my painting and the rest came quite quickly.
