"Filled" by Corey Couturier is a fun and playful painting based on Romans 15:13. It is symbolic of God's blessings and favor, painted with acrylic and other media on a plywood panel. "Toned down" background colors are vividly contrasted with the bright, happy colors to make this painting really stand out. DoodleBoy is a character I created in 2009, and have used him in many of my creations. I painted this in my studio in Chinook, Montana. check out my website at: www.coreycouturier.com

My New Mural, installed. Title: "The Big Bang" A History of Blaine County, Montana
Friday, July 10, 2015
"The Big Bang" by Corey Couturier. Mural on Plywood. 6ft by 16ft. This mural I did for Blaine County, Montana. The painting is the story of Blaine County and the coming together of two cultures of people. On the one hand there was the Native American Peoples, and on the other came the White man. Native American life revolved around the Buffalo, and the white people brought cattle and sheep to Montana. The Bear Paw Mountains rise in the distance as an oil pump draws oil from the ground.
Mural For Blaine County Fair, 2015 One of my Summer projects for 2015 was to do a Mural for the Blaine County Fairgrounds. The painting should be ready by the opening of the fair.
"Resurrection" is a symbolic abstract piece I did in my studio in Chinook, Montana in the spring of 2015, and was shown in my art show titled "Love Letters to Jesus". "Love Letters to Jesus" was my first art show in Chinook, Montana. www.coreycouturier.com
Because I am a Christian first and foremost in my life, it would be obvious that many of my paintings are of spiritual origin. I did this painting out of my love for Jesus, and what He has done for me. The cross has become the focal point of history. This mixed media painting is painted on Quality Gallery Wrap Canvas made and shipped to me here in Montana from California. It measures 5ftH by 4ftW, I prayed over this mixed media piece before I ever put the brush to it. I asked God to help me create a Great Painting, and I believe He answered my prayer. In this style of painting I usually lay in the background and then look for clues towards the vision God puts in my mind. As I follow these clues, i often listen to music, or play the guitar, often with bursts of inspirational energy as the Holy Spirit guides me.
"Remember When" by Corey Couturier. 2013. Mixed Media on Canvas. size: 5ftH by 6ftW
"Remember When" is a painting I did while living in Northern Montana in the winter of 2013. I was born in a small town in Northern Montana by the name of Chester, and was raised in Chinook. All these little towns in Northern Montana sprung up along the tracks of the Great Northern Railroad. Unfortunately all these little towns are gradually getting smaller and smaller as time goes on. Eventually, perhaps the only reminder of these towns will be some ancient graffiti left on a wall somewhere. As I was contemplating the fate of these little towns, I realized that the cemeteries of these towns are filled with my family and relatives, and that one day I myself may be laid to rest in one. I realized that my life here on earth is going to end someday. This piece is my cry to "not forget me." The symbols and words and dates are important to me, like July 20, is the day I gave my life to Jesus. There are other hidden things in this painting as well. My hope is that it will speak to each person in a different and profound way. In a way, it's my way of making my mortality last beyond my life. Enjoy!!

This came out in the Blaine County Journal yesterday. I'm very excited about taking on this challenge, which will be the biggest challenge I have taken on so far. I keep pushing myself to dream bigger dreams, to attempt the impossible, to live in the realm of faith. I choose to live the dream God downloaded into my heart.
